One
of the most competitive industries in the world is the cellular
phone service industry. With so much competition in one market, a
customer would be crazy not to shop around. Recent law changes are
making even more of an impact on competitive pricing of cellular
phone service. I'm talking
about 2 laws in particular. The first law that was recently passed
allows customers to keep their same phone number and take it to
another carrier. The second law, and probably the most important,
is the fact that companies are required to offer some sort of
trial period for new service - usually 14 days. So be sure and
take advantage of these new benefits.
When your shopping for a new cellular
service plan, the first thing you should do is take a look at
the coverage map. If you're not sure about the coverage in your
area, it'll be nice to know that you have a trial period to see if
it works or not.
Now you need to decide how many cell
phones you'll be needing for your family. Often times a family
plan or a shared calling plan will save you tons of
money, but not always. It really depends on how many minutes will
be used to call outside of your cellular company's network. After all,
shared cellular minutes are nearly always free when they are used
in the same network.
Now that you've verified that you do
have coverage in your area and you know how many phones you'll be
needing - take a moment to decide how many minutes you'll be
needing. It's very important to get more minutes included in the
plan so you don't have to pay the overage charges (which can be as
high as $0.45 per minute).
Following these simple steps will
ensure that you'll be happy with your new cellular service plan
for the duration of your contract. Click on one of the cellular
companies below to get a better idea of which one may be right for
you
